Louis XIV period fireplace in Royal red marble. This fireplace model, called “gueule de four,” is classic under Louis XIV. It is adorned with moldings and an oval in the center of the lintel. The chapel-shaped jambs are slightly curved on pedestals. The slightly rounded mantelshelf with rounded corners is molded with a beak of corbin profile.
