Fireplace in Carrara white marble veined with porphyry from the late 18th to early 19th century. Featuring three ovals in micro-mosaics depicting Roman buildings: St. Peter’s Square, the Forum, and the Pantheon. The hearth surround is accentuated by a molding of heart-shaped veins in the mass. The jambs are formed of half-engaged columns with embedded porphyry flutes, supporting capitals with acanthus leaves.
