Parisian Regency period fireplace in Rance marble, commonly used at the Palace of Versailles under Louis XIV and the Regency. The center of the crosspiece features a motif of curved leaves. Large stylized foliage scrolls are sculpted on the heads. The mantel is molded with a crow’s beak profile. The jambs with chapels have an accentuated curve. An inner frame molding in a boudin style emphasizes the curve of the jambs.
